S&S/FLATHEAD POWER KN-SERIES ENGINES KNUCKLEHEAD STYLE
These SandS KN-series motors are very close in appearance to the original Knuckleheads but at SandS their knowledge and experience, available in. These engines are available in 93 CI (more precisely 92.9 CI or 1523 cc), no concessions have been made to maintain reliability at the level of current standards. All critical parts of the original knuckle have been redesigned. The transmission side now has a 1958-1965 type splined shaft with Timken bearing. Although this requires the use of the 1954-1965 style primary cover as well as its internal components, this all contributes to giving a much better capacity to handle the power than the original. Also the lower rocker covers are now cast aluminum with a gasket to properly seal, and instead of being held in place by the valve guide it is by spring pressure valve. Likewise, it is a special seal at the bottom of this casing which gives the seal and which is much easier to change since you no longer have to remove the valve guide to change it. Likewise, instead of having brazed and rigid oil returns, SandS has improved the design of these returns for greater reliability as well as easier maintenance and disassembly. KN93 engines come assembled and complete with SandS Super E carburetor and SandS Super Stock ignition with a one year warranty. The generator model mounts in the original and original Knucklehead type frames with primary and chain sprocket from 1954-1965. The generator/alternator version may not fit in the original Knucklehead frames and will be used with most modern primaries as well as primary belts, modern gearboxes and frames with front mount type 1948- 1999 and should be used with an interior primer from 1970 to present.
