AFM seals are made of aluminum foam. A synthetic nitrile chemically compound rubber blown and bonded to an aluminum core with a temperature resistance of over 250°F (121°C). AFM material has 85% recovery while maintaining strong torque retention. AFM does not require joint sealing or retightening. Available from stock and in Big Bore sizes and various thicknesses to allow engine builders to adjust the compression ratio. All seals are sold in sets of 2.
