These electronic regulators replace the end bell and become a structural element of the generator. The current limiting circuit senses the armature temperature and adjusts the available output to allow maximum amperage without overheating the armature. This gives you more power for faster battery charging and cooler running for longer generator life. Can also be used without battery. Does not fit some models with foot clutch. Installation on FL models with a pre-1992 OEM or aftermarket generator with engine level fins requires separate purchase of ZPN 782246 end plate.
