Dakota adjustment unit for electronic meters

The Dakota's electronic speedometer adjustment unit plugs directly into the stock sockets on 1996 to present models with the electronic speedometer. Later models like 2004 to present Sportster, 2006-2017 Dyna and 2007 to present Softail and Touring require wiring in the original harness. Speed correction can be done up to Harley's factory margin of error, typically 3-5% of the actual speed reading. If the correction is made beyond this value, it may result in loss of the 6th gear indicator light and cruise control. This device allows you to correct the speedometer and odometer reading after a tire or pulley size change or when a different transmission (different gear or 6 speed) has been installed. Two sealed push button switches make it easy to increase or decrease the speedometer reading while riding the bike. Once you set the speedometer to the correct value, the device saves the correction factor, even when the battery is disconnected. The module is completely sealed against water, dust and dirt. The correction range is 50% to 200% of the original reading. Small steps allow precise correction to within 1 MPH or 1 KPH.
