DOUBLE RED SHIFT TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS

These Red Shift tensioners are a must for 2006 Dyna and all 2007 to present Twin Cams. These tensioners are a direct replacement to improve timing accuracy and control. The dual piston design is simple and effective and it's easy to see why it works. When the Twin Cam engine is running, the power of the pulses swings the tensioner shoe back and forth. On a single tensioner piston design, the natural swing movement causes the hydraulic piston to momentarily stick at the base, which interrupts the flow of pressurized oil and introduces air into the hydraulic tensioning device. The air will reduce or eliminate the pressure of the tensioners on the chains which results in a loss of valve control control leading to "bounce" of the components, including the valves, cups, rocker arms, lifters, pushers and camshaft.
