Dyna Single Fire Coil Set for Street Use
categories
The Dyna S is a fully self-contained electronic system that sits behind the ignition cover. It uses a magnetic rotor and “Hall Effect” magnetic sensors that are not affected by RPM changes, dirt and/or oil. The Dyna "S" operates with a stock or aftermarket mechanical feed unit. It is designed for street, touring or strip and faster adjustment than points. Two versions are available, the Dual Fire High Performance system which simply replaces conventional point ignition, and a Single Fire version. Single Fire does not ignite both cylinders at the same time, but only the cylinder that is at the end of its compression stroke. This means that the piston which is in the overlap position will not be actuated unnecessarily. Both systems are easy to install without any modifications and are backed by a 3-year factory warranty. Dual Fire and Single Fire systems fit 1971-1979 Sportster and 1970-1979 Big Twins. The kits can also be installed on 1980-1999 single-cam Big Twins and 1980-2003 Sportsters when a mechanical advance unit is used. Dyna S ignitions must be used with a 5 ohm coil for road use. Coils with a primary resistance of 3 ohms are suggested for racing use only.
